Exercise: The Values Audit
Take a moment to review your top values from Lesson 2.1 and answer the following questions:
π Step 1: Examine Your Top 5-10 Values
For each of your core values, ask:
- Where did this value come from? Did I develop it on my own, or was it influenced by family, culture, or society?
- Do I still feel deeply connected to this value, or do I follow it out of habit or expectation?
- If no one had ever told me this value was important, would I still choose it?
π Step 2: Revisit the Values List
Go back to the Values List PDF and look at the values you discarded.
- Are there any values you rejected too quickly?
- Did you dismiss any values simply because they werenβt encouraged by your family or culture?
- Is there a value that you previously overlooked but now realize is important?
π Step 3: Adjust Your Core Values List
- If any of your top values donβt feel 100% authentic, feel free to discard them.
- If youβve discovered a value that resonates more than you expected, add it to your list.
This step ensures that the values guiding your life are truly yours.
π Key Takeaway
Your values define your path, but only if they are truly yours. By reviewing both the values you kept and the ones you rejected, you give yourself the freedom to live with greater clarity, confidence, and alignment.
