Lesson 1.2: The Connection Between Values, Purpose & Authenticity
Why do some people seem deeply fulfilled and confident in their choices, while others feel lost or stuck? The answer often comes down to alignment—the degree to which your values, purpose, and daily actions match who you truly are.
When you understand your core values, you gain clarity on what drives you. When you align your values with your purpose, you create a life that feels meaningful. And when you consistently make decisions based on these values, you develop authenticity—the confidence to show up as your true self.
How Values, Purpose & Authenticity Work Together
Think of values, purpose, and authenticity as a pyramid that builds upon itself:
🔹 Core Values (Foundation) – These are your deepest beliefs about what truly matters. They influence your decisions, priorities, and overall sense of fulfillment.
🔹 Purpose (Middle Layer) – Your purpose is how you express and apply your values in the world. It’s not necessarily a single career or mission—it’s the way you contribute in a way that feels meaningful to you.
🔹 Authenticity (Top) – Authenticity is the confidence and fulfillment that come from aligning your daily life with your values and purpose. When you are authentic, you feel at peace with your choices, free from external pressures or expectations.
When all three elements align, you feel clear, confident, and deeply fulfilled. When they are out of sync, you may experience frustration, confusion, or a sense that something is missing—even if everything looks fine from the outside.
What Happens When These Elements Are Misaligned?
🔹 Living Without Clear Values – You may feel directionless, constantly second-guessing decisions, or relying on others’ approval instead of your own inner compass.
🔹 Having Values But No Purpose – You know what matters to you, but you struggle to translate it into meaningful action, leading to a sense of stagnation.
🔹 Compromising Authenticity – You make choices that go against your values—leading to stress, dissatisfaction, and even burnout.
On the other hand, when your values, purpose, and actions are aligned, you experience:
✔ Clarity – You know what matters most and can make confident decisions.
✔ Confidence – You trust yourself instead of seeking external validation.
✔ Fulfillment – You feel deeply satisfied because you’re living in integrity with your core beliefs.
